My goal on TurboUp was to elevate the app by fixing bugs, revamping and enhancing existing features, and shipping new ones. Key contributions included: • Added live previews to the Discover page • Enabled profile customization • Improved scroll performance • Rebuilt the Garage feature (details below) • Reduced loading times
Achieved smooth playback of multiple high-quality videos in a scrolling feed, streaming from remote sources, through targeted performance optimizations.
Rebuilt the Garage feature, enabling users to catalog their cars and installed mods. Garage data is stored in MongoDB and synchronized in real time via WebSockets.
Following these improvements, TurboUp’s active user base doubled, and user feedback became overwhelmingly positive reflecting a clear lift in quality and performance.
